Classic NYC Story

…so here it is! Classic’s (first?) cheesecake giveaway. For whomever wins, I’ll make a homemade cheesecake, possibly sent in a cold cereal box, but I make no promises on that.

“I know music. I used to sing. Ask my son.” I didn’t ask her son. “I used to sing and I know what I’m talking about. I am a Very. Good. Critic. And baby? You’ve got it.”

For those of you who have no idea what’s going on… the theme for today’s Music Monday is favorite commercials.

“Don’t you owe me some cheesecakes?” he said.

I flipped the box open and showed him what I had brought. Three strawberry cheesecakes in three different colors, arranged in a triangle in a homemade display box that looked like Special K cereal.

I am tired. It was as though
I, with my own meager force
were pulling the train along its course [...]

But you know what? I don’t know how to talk about this. He was my first love… I don’t want to be angry at him anymore. I don’t want to be angry at myself anymore… I don’t want to be angry at the Empire State building anymore…

“Oh man,” he exclaimed, “New York ain’t got no shortage of good looking women!”

He was talking about me, of course. Who else would he be talking about?

That’s what I do. That’s what I’ve got… But there’s no reason for anyone to believe any of that while I’m tangling my fingers together at an audition.

I’ve been meaning to check this chick out for maybe years now… how am I only hearing this now???

So, making new friends is awesome. Getting awards is awesome. Therefore, getting awards from new friends must be doubly awesome, correct? Correct.
